Memory Foam Body Pillow Is The Perfect Addition To Your Home

I live in a studio apartment that is about the size of two shoeboxes super-glued together. In this apartment I have the basic bachelor pad necessities: custom built PC, a very comfortable queen size pillow top bed, and a 42” LCD television. That being said, I have little to no room for any other furniture or seating of any kind.

If I am watching TV I am most likely sitting on my bed so I thought I should get a large pillow which would allow me to do so comfortably without ruining my mattress or the linens. I found a 10” “round” memory foam body pillow on a website that stressed the comfort level and the multiple practical uses of their product. Even though the main point the site stressed was the use of the body pillow as a pregnancy aide (positioning for the mother-to-be to improve comfort while sleeping or resting and as a cradle for the new-born child), I thought I could make use of the size and shape of the pillow as a prop to forward on, set behind my back while sitting up in bed, and as a sleeping aide. I bit the bullet and ordered the non-returnable pillow in the hopes I could at least sell it to a friend, or perhaps on eBay or something.

I don’t know how I managed to survive over a year in my apartment without this pillow. I have had it for almost 3 months now and my only concern is whether my constant use of the pillow will warrant me having to purchase another one within a few years. I can lay on my stomach clutching the pillow under my arms and chest in great comfort, I can sit up in bed and against the wall with the pillow providing support for my lower back, and I can wrap around it at night to help me sleep. One unexpected surprise when I received the pillow was that it is 100% memory foam! By this, I do not mean it was 100% memory foam for the first inch and then some sort of filler the remaining 9 inches, I mean it was a huge chunk of memory foam all throughout! It is extremely comfortable and could serve as a home defense devise given its large size and sturdy construction. Hope this article helps those of you who are looking for the perfect body pillow for your home or apartment.

Drug And Alcohol Testing In The Adoption Process

The adoption process is a long and arduous one.  Both parties, the ones adopting and the adoption agency, need to look into every possible scenario to make sure the child is being placed with the right care.  A hair alcohol test or drug follicle hair testing might be completed to ensure that the child is placed in a safe home. While the type of test may depend on the agency itself, these types of tests protect our children. There may even be some agencies that don’t require the test for the family, but only for the birth mother.

Perhaps you have the heart for children without a home and want to open up your home as a foster parent or adoptive parent. There are many steps you’ll need to go through to make that happen. You first step will need to be to research all the possibilities and determine if you’d like to adopt out of the United States or another country. There are millions of children worldwide that need a home. Once you’ve chosen your adoption agency then you can begin the process by filling out the application.

When you provide the agency with the application and fee you’ve finished the first step. From here, more paperwork and money quickly follow. You will have someone come into your home to interview you are complete a home study. This will follow with even more paperwork and more money. Once they have all the paperwork they need on file, you will be considered active in the system. This means that you might be chosen by a birth mother when she is determining who she would like to have raise her child.

Looking online and into the adoption process, it doesn’t seem that drug and alcohol testing are a major part of the process for the family most of the time. Often times, it is just required for the birth mother. We should be requiring the hair alcohol test and drug follicle hair test so that we are placing all children in safe and secure homes. While it is important to know whether or not the mother has been on drugs or alcohol and how this may have affected the child, we also need to be careful on the types of homes that are chosen for foster homes or adoptive homes.

The bottom line is that we can all play a positive part on the future of our children.  We need to look to education and regulation to make a difference in the system. If you don’t have the heart for adopting or fostering a child in your home, you can still be part of the solution by getting involved in community efforts to help support children who are without a home. Many churches will send shoebox gifts to areas where children may be in need of Christmas presents. You may also find out more about the adoption process, look to the laws and regulations and become part of the solution in fixing the flaws that exist. Maybe you’d like to be part of the education process in reaching young teens or young mothers who are dealing with pregnancy and the adoption process. Wherever your strength lies, rest assured that there is a place for you to help in the process.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Traits And Characteristics

Before you bring a Staffordshire bull terrier puppy into your home, make sure you know what owning a ‘Staffy’ entails. Bear in mind that the cute little puppy you have set your heart on will grow into a powerful and muscular animal which will require firm handling and lots of time and energy.

This breed of dog is very strong and requires firmness and consistency while training. You need to be sure that you wish to commit yourself to your dog’s welfare for the next 10-12 years.

Of course, the Staffordshire bull terrier has many wonderful inherent characteristics – he is a dog with special intrinsic qualities, which makes him an endearing pet. The Stafford is renowned for its affinity with humans and is exceptionally good with children and infants.

Adored and adoring within their own family circle, these dogs are more than happy to share your home with you rather than spending long periods on their own in a kennel. They really enjoy getting involved in family activities like car rides, going on hikes and walks, romping on the beach, and especially cuddling up with you when you settle down for an evening of TV watching or reading.

Staffords will also often be boisterously welcoming with visitors and you and your friends have to be ready for this. These dogs are incredibly like humans in a furry form!

Although each dog will have its own individual personality traits, there are some personality characteristics common to all dogs of this breed. Staffords are tough, courageous, tenacious, and stubborn by temperament. They are also very protective, curious, active, quick and agile. The Staffordshire bull terrier is highly intelligent and being ever eager to please, he will give you and your family a lifetime of devotion.

As puppies, these dogs need to chew on anything they can set their teeth into and need a safe alternative to furniture, toys and clothing for their busy jaws. Stafford puppies love to play rough, but you must make it clear right from the start who is the boss. This is not a difficult task if you begin working with your ‘Staffie’ when she or he is a puppy. Puppies require a lot of time and patience and to housebreak will require double the effort and twice the patience. Of course, these puppies love people and need to be comforted and loved in return.

When a Stafford shows its teeth in a snarl, it can be rather disconcerting. They look tough and strikingly menacing, but because of their natural fondness for people, DO NOT make good guard dogs. These dogs can be trained for agility and competitive obedience.

The Staffordshire bull terrier does everything with persistence, passion and intensity. Totally fearless and curious, these dogs love a challenge and variety. These energetic dogs are active from dawn to dusk, and are unable to be left for long periods without outside stimulation. Whilst they thrive on being with people, they react if challenged by another dog. Born fighters, these dogs possess the strength and tenacity of the Bulldog with the exceptional athletic ability of the Terrier. Staffords also have no fear of traffic and sadly often become road accident victims.

These trustworthy dogs with their sound temperament are faithful companions to humans all through their life.

Find The Best Dog Training Book For You

With the exponential growth of the pet product industry, it can be hard to determine what resources are best for you and your pet. Dog training books are one of the many categories that can be overwhelming in terms of the amount of choices available. There are number of great books out there, but they are not all good matches for everyone. Here are some tips for finding the best dog training book for your situation.

How old is your dog?

One of the easiest ways to eliminate irrelevant products is by targeting books that cater to your dog’s age. There are a plethora of books available for puppy training, but not nearly as many designed for adult dogs. It is important to distinguish the two since the age of your pet determines how you will approach the training process.

What are your goals?

Dog training is a very broad subject that can encompass a number of different things. House training, leash training, and obedience training are all sub-niches to the primary subject. Take a minute to consider what you want to accomplish in training your pet, and find a book the concentrates on these subjects.

How much experience do you have?

There are different levels of training techniques, ranging from beginner to advanced. Thus, you should consider your level of experience before shopping for a dog training book. If this is your first dog, than it is safe to assume that you have a lot to learn. Look for a book that caters towards beginners. A good beginner book walks you through the basics of training while gradually building on previous lessons. It should also be fairly comprehensive since it is likely that you will have questions on a wide range of topics.

How do you learn?

Some people can read a text description and have no problem executing the steps. Others may need the assistance of pictures or video to supplement the text information. Think about how you prefer to get your information. Ideally, you will find a resource that offers a mix of each format. This way you can reference a different source if you have trouble visualizing the instructions.

Finding the best dog training book is really a matter of preference. What works well for you may not be ideal for the next person. Take into account the relationship you have with your dog and consider the things you hope to accomplish. By spending a little extra time thinking about the needs of you and your pet you will be able to find a resource that suits you.
