For over 3,000 years the art of Feng Shui has been practiced in China. Early Chinese people who practiced this art were responsible for finding the area that was used to build homes and creating their villages. The areas they found were called Belly of the Dragon because they were above areas that were prone to flooding and below areas of high winds. This is what is meant by achieving the balance of wind and water.

Once they found the right spot for building, the Feng Shui master would oversee the building of the structures so that they did not interfere with the natural elements of the area. Being in harmony with these elements is the basis for this ancient practice.

Feng Shui practitioners in the very early days were regarded highly but the only patrons they were allowed to see were the emperors and privileged people of that time. The commoners were not allowed to seek assistance from them. Any practitioner who was found to have helped a commoner was subject to being severely punished or put to death

This art uses the solar system, the earth, and a person birth date to calculate the best directions for a person to live and work. Placement of certain objects related to the five elements of the Feng Shui principle are key to having the correct balance and in turn provide peace and harmony.

During the East Han Dynasty in 25 A.D., written records were kept that detail the beliefs that are today used as Feng Shui. The theories of Yin and Yang, believing that everything must be balanced to achieve harmony, were practiced around 770 B.C. to 475 B.C. at the earliest.

Many practices were handed down from generation to generation. They more often were in the form of communicating verbally or poems were made up to teach to students. Because this art was kept a secret from commoners, not many written records are available.

If you believe in the power of Feng Shui, becoming more in balance and at ease with your life are part of the results. These results do not happen overnight. The truly devoted will have the harmony in their life as well as the peace within to overcome the most troublesome of obstacles.

The energy that is associated with this practice is called chi. Chi is influenced by the positioning of something and anything that is placed around it. In that way of thinking, the earth is positioned and all living things that are around it are energy. The energy can be either positive or negative.

Despite the fact that the writer was strongly impressed by a few institutions, Charles Dickens was also grimly disgusted with some chiefly slavery. He described the ones involved in slavery by stating, that all the people who possess, breed, make use of, buy, and sell slaves, those who will, so far the bloody section has a bloody finish, possess, breed, make use of, buy, and sell people by all means; who determinedly disagree with the horrors which exist in the system….those would with pleasure involve the United States of America in any kind of war, such as, civil or foreign, and provided that this situation had its sole finish and object the declaration of their liberty to be responsible for slavery, and to beat and work and torment slaves, accepted and believed by every human authority, and besides unassailed by whichever human power; who, if they have a word of Freedom, stand for the Freedom to keep down their kind, and besides to be savage, heartless and brutal.

Though Charles Dickens’s words head towards an exciting read, however, American Notes does not actually serve the purpose consisting in giving the account of the United States of America to the British since his account of this country became skewed by the writer’s personal feelings. He believed so voluntarily in the idea that he as the well-liked author, would be excellent treated because of the popularity he’d gained that when the writer got injured he was really shocked. Out of his shock, Dickens recorded his displeasure with his treatment as a result of generalizing lots of American people to be crude.

Speed/Fast Footwork is the key to basketball. Obviously the guards and small forwards may have an advantage in this area but what I am talking about is having the fastest feet in your position. If you are playing the 5 spot, are you faster than the opposing 5? You may not be the quickest in your team but ensure that you are the fastest in your position. An agility ladder will assist with shortening up your step and increasing speed, which is essential in learning to sprint and not lope. I will show you some great exercises to blow by your opponents with ease.
For these exercises its best to use an agility ladder on grass or a basketball court, but chalk and concrete is just as good as long as you have good supportive shoes on.
Working with the agility ladder will create faster feet, explosive speed and remarkable agility and recovery. The key is to run through the exercise once, slowly, before you begin your sets/reps. This will allow you to co-ordinate before you start and will allow you to perform the exercise as fast as possible
Step Throughs - Stand facing the ladder at either end. Place the lead foot in the first square with the opposite arm forward, mimicking the running position. Both arms are bent at about a 90 degree angle. Next, place the trail foot in the first square and bring the opposite arm forward. Continue down the entire length of the ladder, alternating each foot hitting every square.On reaching the end of the ladder accelerate, sprinting for 10 yards before pulling up and returning to the start of the ladder again.
Lateral Shuffles - Start at the beginning of the ladder standing to the left hand side of the ladder. Stepping with your right leg first, step into the first box, then step into the first box with your left leg. Then step outside the right hand side of the ladder with your right leg. Now move your left leg into the second box, followed by your right leg, then move your left leg outside the left hand side of the ladder. Work your way up the ladder in this motion. On completing the last box of the ladder sprint for 10 yards before pulling up and returning to the start of the ladder.
